Financial Analyst

Sunstone Real Estate Advisors, the largest national brokerage firm focused exclusively on manufactured housing & RV communities, seeks a talented Financial Analyst to join our growing team based out of San Diego, California.

The Financial Analyst will work collaboratively with the underwriting in analyzing individual assets and portfolios, conducting market research, and partnering with the operations team to produce quotes for incoming loan requests, broker opinions of value (BOV’s) and offering memoranda (OM’s).

The Financial Analyst possess a high-level understanding of commercial real estate underwriting and fundamental metrics, excellent analytical skills, and strong communication skills.

A day in the life of a successful Financial Analyst includes, but is not limited to:

• Reviewing and analyzing financial statements, rent rolls, leases, and other materials for the purposes of property, portfolio, and loan underwriting and analysis

• Performing detailed market research and gathering and reviewing comparable data

• Modeling different scenarios to determine whether a loan fits with the firm's lending criteria

• Partnering with the Executive Managing Directors, Underwriters, Operations team, Brokers, and other internal/external stakeholders on the evaluation of potential opportunities

• Communicating with capital sources, buyers, and sellers to achieve ideal outcomes for the firm’s clients

The ideal Financial Analyst possesses the following skills & experience:

• 1-3 years' experience in a similar CRE Analyst role, ideally in a banking, alternative lending, or investment sales or debt/equity brokerage environment

• An intimate understanding of the life of a commercial loan or sale from origination through successful closing

• The ability to work independently, and as a member of a collaborative team

• Superb time management, organizational, and communication skills

• A strong work ethic, able to co-manage a highly active loan pipeline
