Financial Analyst

Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Construction and Accounts Payable teams by tracking, analyzing, and managing project costs during network construction. This role provides financial insight into network build activities, helping ensure budget alignment, cost control and accurate reporting. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment with evolving processes and will demonstrate strong communication, patience and professionalism when working with others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Construction and Accounts Payable teams to track and analyze fiber network build costs at a project level.
  • Perform pre-construction due diligence to validate budgets, schedules, and vendor pricing.
  • Monitor and report on construction spend, commitments, and cost variances, identifying key drivers and trends.
  • Reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and payments, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
  • Support construction forecasting and variance analysis for ongoing and completed projects.
  • Collaborate with third-party contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and cost transparency.
  • Prepare and present timely financial summaries for leadership and project teams.
  • Maintain financial integrity in project systems; recommend and implement process improvements as the organization matures.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and conflict management skills-able to communicate effectively and remain calm under pressure within challenging field environments.

EducationRequired Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or cost tracking
    • Proven experience working cross-functionally with Accounts Payable and Construction teams.
    • Strong Excel proficiency, including the ability to analyze large data sets and identify actionable insights.
    • Exceptional communication, composure, and adaptability in dynamic and sometimes high-stress situations.
    • Ability to work onsite in Mason, OH, with occasional travel to construction sites.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in the telecom, fiber, or infrastructure industries.
    • Working knowledge of construction project systems
    • Familiarity with CapEx reporting, cost variance analysis, and project-level financial controls.
    • Strong understanding of A/P workflows and invoice reconciliation processes.

    • Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
