Financial Analyst – Engineering
As Astranis's Engineering Financial Analyst, you will play a critical support role for our engineering teams, helping to ensure financial clarity as we design, build, and scale. We are seeking a finance professional with an exceptional work ethic, a solid foundation in financial analysis, and an eagerness to learn on the job.
You are an ideal candidate if you pride yourself on being a highly collaborative, service-oriented business partner. In this role, you will meet directly with engineers to support their budget needs, providing necessary financial guidance as a pragmatic business partner. We are looking for someone adaptable—an individual we can mentor and mold as they grow alongside our dynamic Engineering department.
- Support financial planning, reporting, and budget tracking for the Engineering function.
- Meet regularly with engineers and technical staff to gather data, understand their resourcing needs, and act as a helpful, approachable partner.
- Assist in analyzing financial data, tracking variances, and understanding department spend to provide clear visibility to team leads.
- Facilitate smooth communication between Finance and Engineering, ensuring financial processes are intuitive and minimally disruptive to technical workflows.
- Embrace a "learn on the job" mentality, adapting to new challenges, systems, and ad-hoc analytical requests as the company grows.
- Support the broader Finance and Accounting teams during the monthly and quarterly close processes.
- Up to 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related analytical role (recent graduates with strong internships and an exceptional work ethic are encouraged to apply).
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundational understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Experience partnering with engineering teams to support budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
- Exceptional work ethic, humility, and a proactive, eager-to-learn attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build trust and partner seamlessly with non-finance teams, avoiding a heavy-handed approach.
- Adaptable and flexible; comfortable in a fast-paced environment where the role will evolve and mold to your growing strengths.
- Prior experience in a startup or high-growth company environment.
- Some engineering experience, educational background, or a strong personal interest in hardtech and hardware development.
- Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
