About the Role

The Financial Analyst is a key finance partner supporting a manufacturing site with direct ownership of month-end close activities, manufacturing cost analysis, financial reporting and variance analysis, forecasting and operating planning, and internal controls execution. This role requires hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, strong accounting and analytical skills, and the ability to translate operational performance into financial insight while maintaining accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial records.

This role will be on-site in Lancaster, PA.

Essential Functions Performed by the Position

  • Own and execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Ensure all expenses and manufacturing costs are recorded in the proper period in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly manufacturing performance reports, including labor, material, and overhead variances, and provide corrective action recommendations.
  • Perform detailed manufacturing cost accounting, including standard cost versus actual analysis and inventory valuation.
  • Analyze inventory balances, reserves, scrap, and usage; partner with Operations and Supply Chain to resolve variances.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages with executive-level commentary and variance explanations.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs tied to production, efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Lead the annual operating plan and support ongoing rolling forecasts driven by volume, labor, and material assumptions.
  • Execute and document internal controls and SOX-related requirements, support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure reconciliation of bank, inventory, and intercompany accounts.
  • Act as a hands-on ERP user (NetSuite or equivalent), ensuring data integrity and reconciliation to the general ledger.
  • Partner closely with plant leadership to drive financial accountability and performance improvement.

Position Qualifications Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).

.Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance, plant finance, or cost accounting.
  • Hands-on ownership of month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Direct experience in a manufacturing environment (required).
  • Experience operating in a SOX-controlled or audit-driven environment.
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP system (NetSuite preferred).

Certifications/Licenses

  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures and inventory accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial results to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ownership mindset.
  • Ability to meet tight close and reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • AI skills and automation is a plus.
