Financial Analyst - Mission, KS

Financial Analyst

Location: Mission, KS (Hybrid)

Position Summary: The Financial Analyst position will be responsible for supporting the Financial Planning and Analysis function at Mercury including data sourcing and management, driver-based forecasting, business case development, decision support and financial analysis. The position will report to the Vice President – Finance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial support of the forecasting and budgeting process
  • Financial and forecast model development and management
  • Analyze data and prepare associated financial reporting and projections
  • Automate data collection and evaluation capabilities
  • Results trend and driver-based variance analysis and evaluation
  • Data sourcing and management
  • Financial business case development
  • Financial analysis and decision support

  • Excellent analytical, computational, and mathematical abilities
  • Proficiency in data extraction and management
  • Strategic thinking and financial modeling skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • High level of integrity
  • Familiarity with Accounting Principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Office capabilities


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in (mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or accounting major preferred)
  • 2+ years of relevant experience


Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
  • May be required to operate general office equipment including but not limited to copiers, printers.
