Financial Analyst – Multifamily Real Estate

Position Summary
The Financial Analyst will support the underwriting, analysis, and execution of multifamily real estate investments. This role is responsible for building financial models, evaluating acquisition and development opportunities, assisting with due diligence, and supporting ongoing asset management reporting. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and proficient in Excel financial modeling.
Key Responsibilities Financial Modeling & Underwriting
- Build and maintain detailed Excel models for multifamily acquisitions and developments.
- Analyze property financials, rent rolls, operating statements, and market data.
- Prepare cash flow projections, IRR, equity multiple, and sensitivity analyses.
- Evaluate financing structures and debt scenarios.
Acquisitions & Due Diligence
- Assist with underwriting new investment opportunities.
- Coordinate due diligence materials (leases, operating statements, third-party reports).
- Review property performance against pro forma assumptions.
- Support investment committee presentations and deal memos.
Asset Management Support
- Track monthly and quarterly property performance.
- Analyze variance between budget and actual results.
- Support annual budgeting and reforecasting processes.
- Assist with investor reporting materials.
Market Research
- Conduct market and submarket analysis (rent comps, occupancy trends, new supply).
- Monitor economic indicators impacting multifamily performance.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
Experience:
- Entry-level: Internship experience in real estate, banking, consulting, or corporate finance preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in real estate finance, investment analysis, or similar.
Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required).
- Strong financial modeling and analytical abilities.
- Understanding of real estate valuation concepts (NOI, cap rates, IRR, DSCR).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Argus Enterprise (for acquisitions roles).
- Exposure to multifamily underwriting.
- Familiarity with real estate market research tools (CoStar, Yardi, RealPage).
- Progress toward CFA or real estate certification (optional).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,788.57 - $80,046.45 per year
