Job Summary

The Financial Assistant provides administrative and financial support to the church by managing routine accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and assisting with budgeting and reporting. This role helps ensure that all contributions, expenses, and financial activities are handled accurately, confidentially, and in alignment with church policies and applicable regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including donations, expenses, and reimbursements
  • Assist with weekly and monthly deposit preparation and reconciliation
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices and issuing payments
  • Support payroll processing and maintain employee records
  • Prepare financial reports for leadership, finance committee, and board meetings
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the annual church budget
  • Maintain donor contribution records and prepare year-end giving statements
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and applicable regulations
  • Assist with annual audits or financial reviews
  • Maintain organized and secure financial files and documentation
  • Possess a working knowledge of church software programs such as Church Community Builder, Ramp, Sage, and Martus.
  • Assist the Controller and Financial Manager as directed

Desired Qualifications

  • Be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ with a willingness to be helpful and supportive of others in their spiritual journeys.
  • Know and commit your support to the FPC mission statement and values, including the staff covenant.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, minimum.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
