Job Description

Role Title: Financial Controller

Location:   Dubai, UAE

Reporting to:    Group CFO/Managing Partner

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Financial Controller to lead the finance function across Asia and Africa from our Dubai HQ. This role demands impeccable financial discipline, sharp analytical instincts, and the ability to build a robust financial infrastructure that supports multi-market growth.

The Financial Controller will act as the financial custodian of the business, safeguarding compliance, strengthening internal controls, ensuring accurate reporting, and driving commercial decisions with clarity and speed.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning

• Develop financial models and scenario analyses for strategic decision-making

• Deliver timely MIS reports, variance analyses, and business insights

• Partner with category heads to track performance, profitability, and productivity

Financial Operations

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations across markets

• Ensure accurate accounting, consolidation, and month-end/year-end closings

• Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, treasury, and cash-flow management

• Implement best-in-class financial systems, policies, and controls

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure full compliance with UAE laws + relevant Asian & African markets

• Monitor VAT filings, statutory returns, and regulatory submissions

• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies

• Maintain robust internal controls across all entities

Commercial Finance & Business Support

• Evaluate pricing strategies, margins, and inventory valuation

• Analyse cost structures to enhance profitability

• Partner with supply chain on landed cost analysis and demand planning

• Provide financial leadership for new market entries, JVs, and partnerships

Risk Management & Controls

• Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks across territories

• Strengthen internal policies for procurement, credit control, inventory, and capex

• Conduct periodic financial audits and prepare risk mitigation frameworks

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Supervise and mentor regional finance teams

• Work closely with senior leadership to align business strategy with financial health

• Build strong cross-functional relationships with Retail, Merchandising, Supply Chain, HR, and Legal

Desired Profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant / CPA / ACCA preferred

• 10–15 years of experience in Financial Controlling, FP&A, or Regional Finance

• Strong multi-country exposure (Asia/Africa/GCC experience is a plus)

• Proven experience in FMCG, fashion, retail, distribution, or consumer products

• Deep understanding of International Financial Reporting System (IFRS), taxation, statutory compliance, and consolidation

• Strong command over financial systems (ERP proficiency preferred)

• Exceptional analytical, organisational, and communication skills

• Ability to thrive in high-growth, multi-market, fast-paced environments
