Financial Controller

Temple Emanu-El is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Part-Time Controller to join our busy and collaborative office team. This role is ideal for a financial professional who is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a community-focused environment.

The position is expected to be five days per week, with a flexible schedule to be determined.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Oversee payroll processing in coordination with an outsourced provider
• Prepare and present monthly financial statements
• Maintain and manage the Temple database, including reporting functions (ShulCloud)
• Coordinate new hire onboarding and related administrative tasks
• Support special projects and financial initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with congregants and staff
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and QuickBooks
• Experience with online bill pay
• Willingness to learn and adapt to Temple-specific systems and processes
