Financial Controller | Accounting

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other relevant regulatory requirements.
• Lead the preparation of accurate financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings with clarity and precision.
• Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management strategies, and optimize banking relationships to support organizational liquidity needs.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls for financial processes, including SOX compliance and technical accounting procedures.
• Coordinate external audits, prepare audit schedules, and address audit findings to uphold transparency and accountability.
• Lead budgeting processes, variance analysis, and financial forecasting to inform strategic decision-making.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms for efficient financial management.
• Supervise a team of accounting professionals ensuring high standards of accuracy and timeliness in all deliverables.
• Foster continuous improvement in financial procedures by leveraging technological tools like Financial software for automation and efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounting leadership roles with expertise in GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, governmental or non-profit accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
• Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or equivalent systems; experience with Financial management tools is essential.
• Excellent understanding of cash management practices, budgeting techniques, regulatory reporting requirements, and account reconciliation processes.
• Ability to interpret complex financial data through detailed analysis and effective report writing skills.
• Familiarity with public accounting standards and experience working within regulated environments is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
