Financial Controller
to join our Istanbul head office and oversee the quality, consistency, and timeliness of financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
Role Summary
The
Financial Controller
will play a central role in overseeing the financial reporting process across the group’s international operations, including countries such as
Liberia, Ghana, and Morocco
. Based in our
Istanbul head office
, this role will review reporting submissions from country finance teams, ensure alignment with
IFRS
and group accounting policies, and act as a key control point between country finance functions and Group Finance.
This position provides
functional oversight
over country-level finance reporting processes, without direct line management of local finance teams. The role is expected to challenge, review, escalate, and coordinate corrective actions where needed, while maintaining close day-to-day communication with local finance teams and management.
The role also supports the preparation of
group-level consolidated reporting packages
, while working closely with the Group Finance Director and other stakeholders involved in the consolidation process.
Key Responsibilities

Review and control the
monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages
submitted by country finance teams

Ensure financial reporting from all relevant entities is prepared in line with
IFRS
and internal group reporting standards

Maintain
functional oversight
of reporting processes across country finance teams, ensuring timely submissions, proper reconciliations, and adequate supporting documentation

Review
trial balances, balance sheet reconciliations, disclosures, and reporting schedules
from multiple jurisdictions and follow up on issues identified

Coordinate with finance teams in
Liberia, Ghana, Morocco
, and other jurisdictions to ensure consistency, completeness, and quality of reporting

Review accounting treatments, adjustments, and supporting schedules to ensure alignment with group accounting policies

Challenge and monitor
balance sheet reconciliations
, including bank accounts, AP/AR, intercompany balances, inventory, fixed assets, and provisions

Support the preparation of
group consolidated reporting packages
, including reporting adjustments, reclassifications, and supporting analysis
-
Coordinate with
external auditors, local advisors, and internal stakeholders
where required
-
Strengthen
group-level internal control practices
, reporting discipline, and closing governance across all subsidiaries

Identify reporting weaknesses, recommend corrective actions, and contribute to the standardization of reporting templates and procedures

Work closely with
FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and country finance teams
to improve overall financial governance across the group
Must-Have Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting, Finance, or a related field
-
8–12 years
of experience in
financial control, audit, accounting, or reporting
within
multinational or group structures
-
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
and group reporting requirements

Proven experience in
multi-entity financial review
,
balance sheet reconciliations
, and
month-end / quarter-end closing oversight

Strong understanding of general ledger accounting
,
intercompany transactions
,
inventory
,
fixed assets
, and
provisions

Hands-on experience with ERP systems
such as
SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle
, or similar

Advanced
Excel
skills and strong reporting discipline

Excellent English
, both written and spoken

Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple remote teams

Willingness to work
full-time on-site in Istanbul
Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of

Experience in mining, energy, construction, or industrial sectors

Exposure to African jurisdictions
and multinational reporting environments

Experience working with
group consolidation processes
and multi-country reporting structures

Professional qualification such as
ACCA, CPA
, or equivalent

Familiarity with
SYSCOHADA/OHADA
is an advantage for jurisdictions where applicable

Familiarity with
US GAAP
is a plus
