Location: 807 Broad Street, Providence RI

Compensation: Based on experience

Schedule: 7.5-hour shift, Monday through Friday,

Reports To: Executive Director & Chief of Staff

Work Location: In-person

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Grants Manager to lead our organization’s grant acquisition, management, and reporting efforts. This pivotal role involves developing compelling grant proposals, managing complex contracts, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements. The ideal candidate will be culturally competent, with an understanding of the Native American community’s needs, and capable of working closely with the team to ensure smooth office operations, flexible and have a mindset of providing help and service to the community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the research and identification of potential funding sources aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Develop comprehensive grant proposals, including technical writing, budget planning, and program descriptions, to secure funding from government agencies, foundations, and corporate donors.
  • Manage all aspects of contract management, ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and organizational policies.
  • Maintain and update databases to track grants, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee financial report writing, ensuring accurate documentation of expenditures and outcomes in accordance with funder specifications.
  • Collaborate with program teams to develop strategic plans that align with grant objectives and organizational growth.
  • Proofread and edit proposals, reports, and related documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Support fundraising efforts by contributing to proposal writing campaigns and donor communications.
  • Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records including ledgers, receipts, and invoices.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage invoicing, bill payments, and bank reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Payroll Management: Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and organizational policies.
  • Budget Tracking: Assist in tracking and managing budgets for programs and events, ensuring accuracy in reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including nonprofit accounting standards and tax filings.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as needed/directed by the Executive Director and Chief of Staff

Experience

  • Proven experience in grant proposal writing, including successful track records in securing funding from diverse sources.
  • Strong understanding of contracts management and contract lifecycle processes.
  • Familiarity with databases platforms for tracking grants and donor information.
  • Excellent research skills to identify new funding opportunities relevant to organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise technical documents, financial reports, and strategic plans.
  • Experience in program development and budgeting to align project goals with funding requirements.
  • Exceptional editing and proofreading skills to ensure high-quality documentation across all written materials.

Qualifications

  • Cultural Competency: Experience working with or knowledge of the Native American community is strongly preferred.
  • Team player, flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in non-profit grants management.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and accounting software (e.g., Sage or similar).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and time management skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
