Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to support financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role serves as a critical financial partner between our operations teams and the private equity investment firms that own the agricultural land assets we manage. The FP&A Analysist will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial data, providing variance analysis with commentary, building and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to enhance strategic decision-making, portfolio performance reporting, sustainability ROI analysis, and long-range financial planning across multiple managed properties. The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious and ability to quickly adapt to a fast-paced working environment. This role is a critical business partner working closely with Regional Managers, VPs, warehouse teams, and funds to ensure financial transparency and accuracy in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in developing annual budgets and forecasts for farming operations.
- Conduct budget vs. actual analysis, identifying key financial drivers, trends, and cost variances.
- Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis, including crop yield projections, warehouse returns and packout analysis.
Reporting & Analysis
- Develop tailored financial and operational reports to provide actionable insights to funds, VPs, and farm management teams.
- Build and maintain dashboards tracking key operational and financial KPIs, such as farm profitability and cost per acre.
- Prepare and distribute quarterly fund reports and monthly farm operational performance updates.
Operational & Financial Management
- Assist in closing month-end financials, preparing journal entries as needed. Manage and reconcile monthly invoices, providing necessary backups.
- Maintain and update master allocation sheets to track cost allocations.
- Assist with maintaining accurate data records in financials systems and operational applications.
- Oversee inventory management, including reconciliation and reporting.
- Track and report monthly fruit packouts, working closely with warehouses.
Communication & Decision Support
- Collaborate with area managers and VPs on a weekly basis to discuss financial insights and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide data-driven insights to optimize farm operations, labor efficiency, and capital expenditures.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all financial reporting and analysis tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field, or the equivalent years of experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (Power Query is a plus), financial modeling, and data visualization tools (Power BI, SQL is a plus).
- Experience with month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of inventory management and cost allocation preferred. Excellent communication skills and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in agriculture or farm management industries.
- Experience supporting private equity portfolio companies or fund reporting.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software (Sage Intacct is a plus).
- Understanding of warehouse operations and fresh produce inventory tracking.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting at a workstation for extended periods (6–8 hours/day) with regular use of a computer, keyboard, and multiple monitors.
- Occasional standing, walking, and traversing uneven terrain during quarterly or more frequent site visits to managed orchard and farm properties, with walking distances up to 2– 3 miles per visit.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of materials up to 25 lbs (e.g., laptop bag, binders, field equipment).
- Ability to drive to and between property locations; a valid driver’s license is required.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor environments including sun, dust, varying temperatures, and agricultural surroundings.
- Travel up to 20% of the time, including overnight stays, for multi-property site tours and private equity partner meetings.

Work Environment
- This is a full-time position with an on-site work schedule at our corporate office in Quincy, WA with occasional site visits to orchard properties or warehouses.
- Expected hours of work are M-F, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- The role operates within a fast-paced, mission-driven organization at the intersection of agriculture, sustainability, and institutional investment.
- Collaborative, cross-functional work is central to the role; the FP&A Analyst will regularly interface with Regional Managers, VPs, warehouse teams, and funds.
- Seasonal intensity varies; Q3 & Q4 tend to be the most demanding periods due to budgeting cycles, annual investor reporting, and harvest-season close processes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range will be $25 - $40 per hour.
- Pay is based on several factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
