Primary Job Title: Financial Planning & Analyst (FP&A)


Location: New York, NY


Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid — Remote to start but must be 2–3 days onsite once the new office is open


Job Details:


  • Position Type: Direct Placement
  • Pay / Salary: $175,000 / Year (USD)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced FP&A Analyst to lead financial planning, analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting activities for the organization. This role will partner closely with leadership and operations teams to provide financial insights, improve reporting processes, and support strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capabilities, experience building financial models, and the ability to communicate effectively across finance and operational teams.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasting tools.
  • Analyze financial results, business trends, and operational performance.
  • Partner with operations teams to support planning and decision-making.
  • Provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Support strategic initiatives and business growth planning.
  • Improve financial reporting and planning processes.
  • Assist with KPI tracking and performance management.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.

Education Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

Required Experience:


  • 5 years of FP&A, corporate finance, or accounting experience
  • Reporting package experience
  • Financial forecasting experience

Required Skills:


  • Financial forecasting
  • Budgeting and planning
  • Reporting and analytics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Skills:


  • Ecommerce and/or retail experience highly desired
  • Ecommerce background or high-end multi-unit retail background
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems experience
  • Experience in supporting operations teams

Important Notes:


  • Candidates must be local to New York City.
  • Candidate will be working for Happier Projects Group LLC on a W2 basis. Brian with Marshall Advisors is their acting CFO (consultant) and will be involved in the interview process and work once the candidate is brought on.
