Financial Planning and Controlling Executive

As a Financial Planning and Controlling Executive at Koç Finansman A.Ş. , you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial control activities, focusing on monitoring and analyzing financial reports, budget variance, expenses and credit control. This is a newly created position, offering a unique opportunity to establish key financial controlling processes from the ground up. This position reports directly Head of Financial Planning and Controlling and focuses on process management rather than direct team management.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting Control:

Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure they meet local GAAP and IFRS requirements. Perform in-depth variance analyses to identify trends, deviations, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting that aligns with the company's strategic goals.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Coordinate and support the preparation of the company's budget, financial forecasts and 5 year strategic plans, working closely with departmental heads. Analyze variances between actual performance and budgeted figures, providing insightful financial commentary to guide business decisions. Ensure that forecasts are continuously updated to reflect changing business conditions and financial trends.

Expense Analysis and Control:

Monitor, review, and control company expenses to ensure that all expenditures align with budgeted forecasts and corporate objectives. Conduct detailed expense analysis, identifying any discrepancies or inefficiencies, and providing actionable insights for cost optimization. Collaborate with department heads to enforce spending limits and ensure compliance with internal financial policies to reduce unnecessary costs and improve profitability.

Financial Management:

Oversee all key accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable (A/R and A/P), general ledger, cost accounting, and revenue recognition processes. Ensure that these operations adhere to the company's financial policies and statutory requirements. Regularly review financial processes to maintain accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of financial management.

Credit Control:

Implement and manage credit control procedures to ensure that collections are conducted in a timely manner and that outstanding debts are minimized. Work closely with the sales and credit teams to optimize credit limits for clients and mitigate potential bad debts. Provide periodic reports on the company's credit exposure and recommendations for improvements in credit management.

Internal Controls:

Develop, document, and implement robust internal control systems aimed at safeguarding company assets and ensuring financial integrity. Regularly review these control systems to ensure they are functioning as intended and address any vulnerabilities or inefficiencies. Ensure compliance with both internal policies and external regulatory requirements through continuous monitoring.

Process Improvement:

Evaluate and refine financial processes regularly to improve operational efficiency and ensure cost optimization. Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement process improvements, ensuring the finance team stays aligned with the company's broader strategic objectives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation and efficiency in all financial operations.

Collaboration with Risk Management:

Act as the key liaison between the finance team and the Risk Management Unit to ensure proper alignment on financial control matters. Provide support and insights related to financial risks and controls while leaving the active risk management to the dedicated unit. Ensure that the financial controls and reporting processes are in harmony with the company’s risk management framework and policies.

Other Reporting Responsibilities:

Support the preparation of the company’s weekly, monthly legal reportings to BRSA, CBRT.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA) or professional certifications (CPA/CMA) are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in financial controlling, preferably within a Finansman or similar financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of IFRS, Turkish financial regulations, and local GAAP. Proven experience with financial controls and credit control strategies. Proficiency in Excel and MS Office Tools .
• Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English is required.
