Job Location: Engineering & Sciences Complex

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends
FLSA status: Exempt

Salary: Commensurate with experience and education.

The Research and Reporting Analyst, under general supervision, generates and ensures accuracy of reports submitted to State and Federal agencies.
Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts financial research and analysis by developing financial models, forecasting future revenue and cost trends, and preparing analytical reports that support strategic decision-making. Assists in collecting, organizing, and analyzing financial data used for internal reporting and presentations.
Manage post-award financial administration for federal, state, and private grants.
Monitor grant budgets to ensure expenditures are allowable, allocable, and reasonable in accordance with sponsor guidelines.
Reconcile grant accounts monthly and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare financial reports for principal investigators (PIs), departments, and sponsors.
Track, process and review payroll allocations for multiple employees funded by various grants and cost centers.
Initiate and monitor budget revisions, cost transfers, and journal entries.
Assist with grant closeouts, including final financial reporting and reconciliation.
Provide written and oral guidance to faculty, department administrators, and staff regarding grant compliance and budget management.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement internal controls to strengthen compliance.
Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures related to financial management, budget, accounting, and payroll.
Supervises and participates in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.
Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, capital acquisitions, and operating expenses.
Reviews of financial statements with management personnel.
Serves as liaison with Contracts and Grants, Payroll, and other departments on campus to ensure documents are processed accordingly.
Identifies and resolves problems and inconsistencies, determining appropriate corrective actions and procedures.
Participates actively in the preparation of the Annual Financial Report for the grant portfolio.
Assists with various special projects as needed.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Travel may be required.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution
and
Experience: Three years related experience to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of principles and theories of finance, accounting or related fields and discipline. Moderate level of competency with Microsoft spreadsheets, database retrieval and reports. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task in a team-oriented environment and be a self-starter.
Preferred Experience: Experience in higher education or research environment. Experience working with grant funding.
