Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Financial Services Representative II to join our team at GenuBank. The role of Financial Services Representative II is responsible for performing routine and intermediate branch and customer services duties by accepting retail and commercial checking and savings deposits, processing loan payments, cashing checks and savings withdrawals, assisting with night depository and vault duties, and promoting business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services.
Duties
- Receives retail and commercial checking and savings deposits by determining that all necessary deposit documents are in proper form and issues receipts.
- Knowledge of all bank products.
- Open, close and supersede all types of bank accounts.
- Responsible for the onboarding process of all new bank customers.
- Thorough understanding of all required business documentation.
- Process fraudulent claims.
- Responsible for the set-up of all Treasury Management products, i.e., Positive Pay, Wire Manager, ACH Manager, Remote Capture, and Mobile Deposit Banking.
- Cashes checks, savings withdrawals and makes cash advances, confirms all necessary documents are properly authorized, are in proper form and are within authorized limits, and makes decisions when questionable items are presented for cashing.
- Assists with night depository duties by logging bags, processing deposits, making change orders, issuing receipts, and returning bags to customers.
- May assist in opening and closing the vault daily and assists in balancing vault currency and coin.
- Operates personal computer to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve problems within given authority.
- Issues official checks, cashier’s checks, money orders, other negotiable instruments, etc.
- Cross-sells the Bank’s other products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff as indicated.
- Performs safe deposit duties by controlling access and assisting customers.
- Receives and processes stop payment and hold orders.
- Accepts loan and installment payments.
- Provides effective customer service and assists in resolving problems within given authority.
- Records, files, scans documents, updates information, prepares wire transfers and sorts mail or reports as required.
- Answers telephones and directs callers to proper Bank personnel.
- May gather data and process various reports (e.g., currency transaction, returned items, overdrafts, callbacks, etc.)
- Processes address changes, check orders, ATM deposits, credit ratings, certifications, incoming and outgoing wires, incoming and outgoing collections, change orders and deposit slip corrections.
- May prepare and research data for levies and garnishments.
Requirements
- Proven experience in loan processing, cash handling, or financial sales is preferred.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and five years of related experience and/or training in the banking industry. Work-related experience should consist of a financial institution cash handling and customer service background.
- Basic experience, knowledge and training in branch operation activities, terminology and products and services.
- Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
- Strong understanding of basic math principles to ensure accurate calculations of interest and balance accounts, add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, locate routine mathematical errors, and count currency, coin and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.
- Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees. Strong phone etiquette required.
- Ability to deal with routine problems involving multiple facets and variables in standardized situations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
