Purple Unicorn is hiring a Financial Systems Analyst/Administrator on behalf of the Mandel JCC
Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Systems Analyst/Administrator to support both financial and Systems operations within the organization. This position will assist with analyzing financial and program data, maintaining financial systems, and supporting day-to-day accounting activities.
The ideal candidate has a strong base in finance, accounting, and Systems, with the ability to learn new systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial & Program Data Support:
- Assist in analyzing financial and operational data to support decision-making
- Help prepare financial and statistical reports and dashboards
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Work with program staff to understand costs and performance metrics
- Record journal entries and help maintain accounting schedules
Systems Support & Administration:
- Assist in administering financial and program software systems (e.g., MIP, Amilia)
- Help manage user access, permissions, and routine system functions
- Troubleshoot basic system issues and coordinate with vendors as needed
- Ensure accurate data flow between systems (e.g., CRM to accounting) and understand the impact on the general ledger
- Support reconciliation processes between CRM and accounting systems
- Provide basic training and support to internal users of financial platforms
Cross-Department Coordination:
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and IT teams to support system and reporting needs
- Support improvements to workflows and reporting processes across departments
- Assist in maintaining compliance with internal controls and data integrity standards
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
OR - Up to 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or systems support roles
Skills & Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and general ledger structure
- Interest in or experience with how CRM and financial systems interact and impact accounting data
- Familiarity with financial software (MIP and/or Amilia a plus)
- Proficiency in Excel; ability to work with spreadsheets and reporting tools
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and willingness to learn
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to nonprofit, municipal, or program-based environments
- Interest in fund accounting or grant reporting
- Some familiarity with system integrations or financial data reconciliation
- Ability to explain basic system or accounting concepts to non-finance staff
