Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Writer to produce clear, accurate, engaging, and insight-driven content across a range of financial topics. The ideal candidate has strong analytical ability, an excellent grasp of company financials, markets and economic themes, and the talent to translate complex ideas into content suitable for both expert and non-specialist audiences.

The role involves writing articles, reports, guides, thought-leadership pieces, and data-driven analysis for our digital media platforms. A strong understanding of investment products, macroeconomics, corporate finance, and regulatory environments is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor breaking financial news and produce rapid-response commentary on a daily basis.
• Research, write and edit high-quality content on company news events, financial markets, investment strategies, and economic developments.
• Produce a consistent pipeline of articles, reports, and explainer pieces aligned with the content calendar.
• Analyse market data, company performance, economic indicators, and industry trends to generate original insights.
• Translate complex financial concepts into clear, reader-friendly language without compromising accuracy.
• Collaborate with analysts, editors, designers, and SEO specialists to produce multimedia assets, infographics, or data visualisations.
• Ensure all content complies with financial regulations, editorial standards, and brand voice guidelines.
• Optimise content for SEO and audience engagement metrics.
• Update and refresh evergreen financial content based on new data and market developments.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a financial writer, journalist, analyst, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of company financial, markets, investment vehicles, and macroeconomic trends.
• Ability to interpret financial statements, earnings reports, and economic data.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Strong research and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
• Experience working with CMS platforms and SEO principles.
• Highly numerate, with proficiency in Excel or financial data tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Yahoo Finance, Morningstar).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to factual accuracy.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience writing about specific sectors (e.g., fintech, AIM-listed companies, market wraps).
• Familiarity with UK financial regulation (FCA) and compliance principles.
• Ability to create or interpret charts, graphs, and other data visualisations.
