Finisher Foreman

The Finisher Foreman must have experience leading finisher crews and have strong knowledge of sloped paving, roller screed, pouring, leveling, forming, troweling, troweling machine for finishing and concrete. Must understand all safety hazards related to the work and oversee the safe and effective operation of work-related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in an industrial facility on construction jobsite setting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper pouring, finishing, and curing techniques meet project specifications
  • Oversee the leveling, smoothing, and shaping of concrete surfaces
  • Place, finish, protect, and repair concrete for projects
  • Place and spread concrete using various tools and level/float the surface per project specifications
  • Pouring walls up to 20’ tall
  • Inspect completed work to ensure proper installation
  • Understand the purpose and proper technique for vibrating concrete

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid TWIC card
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a foreman role
  • Must have 5+ years' concrete finishing experience
  • Must be able to push/pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs., but may occasionally push/pull, lift, or carry up to 100 lbs.
  • Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms, and legs
  • Hand/eye coordination
  • Must be able to communicate (hear, comprehend, and speak) to safely perform work
  • Will need to be able to perform sedentary to heavy work
  • May operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, and pneumatic) of all types
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  • Position may require prolonged bending/twisting, walking, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, pushing /pulling, or standing and lifting
  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, muddy conditions, loose rock, loose/soft sand, etc.
  • May be required to work in confined spaces
  • Will be exposed to adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with management/ supervision
  • Reading and writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy
  • Ability to use math/complete calculations
  • Work at various tempos, and concentrate amid distractions
  • Decision making skills necessary
  • Detail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe details

Work Environment

The job will primarily be on or around construction/turnaround sites in petrochemical operational units and include possible hazardous environments such as confined spaces and working at heights. Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, irritants and smoke may occur. Special Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary to control some hazardous environments. Additional forms of PPE may be required depending on the particular project. Safety requirements must be verified and meet standards set forth by client permits, policies and procedures, and be performed in compliance with all federal, state and local laws or ordinances before work activities can begin.
