Job Summary: The Finishing Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all finishing-phase construction activities to ensure high-quality workmanship, adherence to plans and specifications, and timely project completion. This role oversees finish trades, enforces safety standards, and ensures the final product meets company and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all finishing trades (e.g., drywall, painting, flooring, millwork, doors, hardware, ceilings, trim).
- Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Plan and schedule daily and weekly finishing activities to meet project timelines.
- Conduct inspections and identify deficiencies; coordinate corrections and punch-list completion.
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, Superintendent, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite; enforce safety policies and procedures.
- Track materials, deliveries, and manpower requirements.
- Train, direct, and evaluate crew members and subcontractors.
- Resolve on-site issues related to sequencing, workmanship, or coordination.
- Ensure all finishing work complies with building codes and company standards.
- Assist with final inspections, client walk-throughs, and project closeout documentation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (trade or technical training preferred).
- 4 to 7 years of experience in construction finishing, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of finishing trades, materials, and installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA or local equivalents).
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with basic construction software or reporting tools is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift materials as required on a construction site.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and active job sites.
