Responsibilities
- Installation and fit-out: Installing and wiring new fire alarm and fire fighting systems, including conventional and addressable systems, sprinkler systems, and emergency lighting.
- Maintenance and inspections: Performing routine maintenance, regular checks, and detailed inspections to ensure all systems are in proper working order.
- Testing and commissioning: Conducting system tests and commissioning new installations to verify functionality and compliance.
- Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnosing and repairing faults in fire alarm and fighting systems.
- Compliance: Ensuring all work complies with relevant safety standards, such as the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and UAE Civil Defense regulations.
Required skills and qualifications
- Technical expertise: Proficiency with testing tools, diagnostic software, and a strong understanding of both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
- System knowledge: Familiarity with various fire fighting systems, such as fire pumps, sprinkler systems, and extinguishers.
- Reading schematics: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and as-built drawings.
- Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve system issues.
- Communication: Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating with teams and clients.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience is often required, along with a relevant technical certification or high school diploma.
