Job description:
- A Fire Fighting Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems including fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire pumps, and suppression systems. The technician ensures that all fire safety equipment complies with national and local safety codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain fire suppression systems such as sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, and extinguishers.
- Perform regular inspection and testing of fire alarm systems and fire protection devices.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair faults in fire detection and suppression systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance of fire pumps and related piping systems.
- Prepare detailed reports on inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed.
- Ensure all fire safety equipment is up to date and compliant with UAE Civil Defense and other applicable regulations.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls involving fire system faults.
- Collaborate with safety officers and building maintenance teams to ensure fire safety compliance.
Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (ITI or diploma in electrical/mechanical field preferred).
- Firefighting system training or certification (e.g., NFPA certifications, Civil Defense approved training).
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems.
- Experience with systems such as FM-200, CO2, water sprinkler, and foam systems is an advantage.
Skills:
- Knowledge of fire safety codes and Civil Defense regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
