Job Description: The Physical Therapist will work closely with our firefighters and other physical therapists, providing preventive care, strength and conditioning, injury assessment, and rehabilitation services. This role requires a deep understanding of sports medicine, the physical demands of firefighting, the significance of mental health and recovery, and the ability to develop personalized treatment plans that are reflective of obstacles related for Fire Rescue.

Hours:
- 3 days per week in Contra Costa County, CA.
- Paid Documentation, client communication, and programming from home.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of firefighters' physical ability and identify any areas of concern.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address injuries, improve athleticism, and enhance overall physical performance.
- Provide hands-on therapy, including manual techniques, exercise prescriptions, and modalities to aid in recovery and rehabilitation.
- Educate firefighters on injury prevention, proper body mechanics, and exercises to maintain optimal physical condition.
- Collaborate with the department's medical team, fitness coordinators, and other outside healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, injuries, and treatments.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in tactical physical therapy and firefighting wellness.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited institution.
- CPR AED certified.
- Valid CA state licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist.
- Experience working with athletes or individuals in physically demanding professions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with firefighters, police, military, or high level athletes.
- Additional certifications in manual therapy or other specialized techniques.
- Knowledge of the specific physical demands and challenges faced by firefighters.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
