Fire Fighting Supervisor – Job Description Job Summary
A Fire Fighting Supervisor oversees the installation, testing, maintenance, and operation of firefighting systems such as sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, and pumps. The role ensures all systems are functioning properly and comply with safety standards to protect life and property.
Key Responsibilities
· Supervise installation and maintenance of firefighting systems (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps,fire suppression systems)
· Ensure compliance with standards such as NFPA codes and local fire safety regulations
· Lead and manage a team of technicians and workers
· Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance
· Monitor system performance and identify faults or deficiencies
· Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and safety authorities
· Review technical drawings, layouts, and system designs
· Ensure proper operation of fire pumps and water supply systems
· Maintain reports, inspection logs, and maintenance records
· Enforce safety procedures and ensure use of PPE on site
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection, or related field
· Proven experience in firefighting systems installation and maintenance
· Strong knowledge of sprinkler systems, fire pumps, valves, and piping systems
· Familiarity with standards like NFPA 13 and NFPA 20
· Leadership and team supervision skills
· Problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
· Good communication and reporting skills
Preferred Certifications
· UPDA Certification.
· Knowledge of local civil defense requirements
