Fire Fighting Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Installs, repairs, and inspects smoke and fire suppression systems; inspects tests, and repairs fire alarm wiring, fire alarm panels and peripheral equipment. Identifies hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, installs and inspects smoke and fire suppression systems & fire pumps
• Inspects, repair or replace smoke/heat detectors and sprinkler heads; repair and test dry/wet systems; tests fire alarm systems using appropriate diagnostic programs and equipment.
• Ensures that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
• Performs tests on fire pumps and standpipe systems.
• Performs other general building maintenance as assigned
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in installation
• Maintenance and repair of fire and smoke suppression systems and equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to use diagnostic program and other applicable diagnostic software and equipment.
• Ability to perform true test smoke detector sensitivity procedure.
• Carry out inspection of firefighting equipment on board vessels according to specified procedures

Qualifications and Experience:

-Diploma or bachelor's degree in fire fighting or engineering.

-3-5 years of work-related experience of firefighting services/ systems- (Re-filling / Hydrotesting / inspections of (fire extinguishers, fire pumps, EEBD, SCBA, oxygen cylinders, wet chemical, others) (marine-Oil & Gas experience is preferred)

Pay: ﷼2,500.00 - ﷼3,500.00 per month
