Job Purpose
To operate, monitor, and maintain fire pump systems ensuring that firefighting equipment and water supply remain in proper working condition at all times for emergency readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor fire pumps (diesel & electric driven) according to SOPs.
- Conduct routine inspections of fire pumps, valves, hydrants, and associated piping.
- Record operating data such as pressure, flow, and fuel levels.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on fire pump systems.
- Respond immediately to alarms, emergencies, and fire drills.
- Maintain daily/weekly/monthly logs of inspections and pump performance.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, and local fire safety regulations.
- Coordinate with Safety & Maintenance teams during fire system testing and audits.
- Report malfunctions, leaks, or abnormal conditions promptly.
- Keep the fire pump room and equipment clean, safe, and operational.
- & Qualifications
- Diploma / Technical Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in fire pump operations (industrial/commercial).
- Knowledge of firefighting systems (hydrants, sprinklers, jockey pumps).
- Ability to read gauges, meters, and technical manuals.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in emergency conditions.
