Fire Pump Technician

Job Title: Fire Pump Technician

Key Responsibilities & Technical Capabilities:

• Remove, reinstall, and maintain full fire pump sets (Diesel, Electric, Jockey) including piping, valves, and controllers.
• Handle electric motor rewinding – remove motor, send for rewinding, refix, re-align, and perform test runs.
• Perform diesel engine services – fuel injector servicing, filter changes, engine tuning, belt replacement, and battery testing.
• Overhaul pumps – replace bearings, seals, impellers, gaskets, and shaft sleeves.
• Skilled in alignment work using dial gauge or laser alignment.
• Diagnose and repair controller faults (electric and diesel controllers).
• Fix system issues such as leaking valves, pressure loss, check valve reverse flow, and vibration problems.
• Conduct commissioning tests – pressure, flow, automatic start sequences, and ensure NFPA compliance.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 5+ years in fire pump maintenance, overhauling, and replacements.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 20 & NFPA 25 standards.
• Experience with brands like Clarke, Grundfos, Armstrong, Peerless, etc.
