Job Overview
As a Fire Sprinkler Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and protection of buildings through innovative fire suppression system designs. You will collaborate with engineers and architects to create detailed schematics and designs that meet industry standards and client specifications. Your expertise will help shape effective solutions that save lives and property, making a significant impact in the field of fire protection engineering.

What you’ll do

  • Design and develop comprehensive fire sprinkler systems using advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation.
  • Create detailed schematics, assembly drawings, and system designs that comply with ASME codes & standards.
  • Utilize Bluebeam and NavisWorks for project coordination and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct thorough mechanical design evaluations, incorporating GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure precision.
  • Perform technical writing to document design processes, specifications, and project reports clearly and concisely.
  • Engage in construction support activities, including site visits to ensure proper installation of fire protection systems.
  • Collaborate with team members on drafting, 2D animation, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to enhance design accuracy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and best practices to continuously improve design methodologies.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER is essential.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in system design for fire protection or similar fields is required.
  • Familiarity with technical writing standards for engineering documentation is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in construction or assembly processes related to mechanical systems will be advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously is crucial.
