Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role is crucial in protecting lives and property by ensuring that fire protection systems are functioning correctly. The Fire Sprinkler Inspector will work closely with clients and contractors to provide expert assessments and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings.
- Test and evaluate the performance of fire sprinkler systems, including water flow tests and pressure tests.
- Identify deficiencies or non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with contractors and clients to ensure timely repairs and upgrades.
- Stay updated on local codes, regulations, and industry standards related to fire protection systems.
- Provide training and guidance to junior inspectors or apprentices as needed.
Skills
- Proficient in blueprint reading to understand system layouts and specifications.
- Knowledge of tube bending techniques for installation adjustments.
- Strong basic math skills for calculations related to system performance.
- Familiarity with hand tools used in inspection and maintenance tasks.
- Solid mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment effectively.
- Ability to rig equipment safely during inspections or repairs.
- Experience with soldering techniques for pipe connections.
