Fire Sprinkler Technician

Job Description

This position is ideal for someone based in the Maryland/DC region who is comfortable traveling extensively for projects throughout surrounding states and regions. Overnight travel will regularly be required.

This is not a micromanaged position. We are looking for a technician who can take ownership of projects, manage their schedule professionally, solve problems independently, and operate confidently in the field with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will perform inspections, testing, service, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems at various customer sites while representing the company professionally at all times.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, service, maintenance, and repairs on fire sprinkler systems
• Troubleshoot and diagnose sprinkler system deficiencies and operational issues
• Conduct annual, quarterly, and monthly inspections in accordance with NFPA standards
• Complete inspection reports and required documentation accurately and on time
• Independently manage assigned projects from start to finish
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and office staff
• Ensure all work complies with applicable fire codes, NFPA standards, and safety regulations
• Travel regularly to customer sites, including overnight stays as required
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory responsibly
• Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to customers

Qualifications

• Experience working with fire sprinkler systems required
• Knowledge of wet, dry, pre-action, and standpipe systems preferred
• Experience performing inspections and service in accordance with NFPA 25 considered a strong asset
• NICET certifications are considered a strong asset
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and remain organized in the field
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Comfortable managing schedules and priorities without constant supervision
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Willingness to travel frequently and stay overnight as required
