Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the work area continuously during hot work activities (welding, cutting, grinding, brazing, etc.).
- Identify and eliminate potential fire hazards before work begins.
- Ensure fire extinguishers, fire blankets, and other firefighting equipment are available, inspected, and ready for use.
- Maintain clear escape routes and ensure the work area is free of combustible materials.
- Communicate safety hazards or unsafe conditions to the supervisor or permit issuer immediately.
- Keep vigilant watch for sparks, slag, or heat sources that could ignite materials.
- Remain present at the site during the entire duration of the hot work and during post-work monitoring periods.
- Follow Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements related to Hot Work permits.
- Notify emergency response teams in case of a fire and attempt initial fire suppression if safe to do so.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and fire safety training sessions.
Qualifications:
·· Saudi Council of Engineers Membership
- Valid TUV certificate and 3 years experience as a Firewatch man in Sabic/Aramco or any Petrochemical industry
- Graduate or diploma holder
- Fluent in English and good communication skills
