Firefighter / Paramedic

The City of Southlake Fire Department is now accepting applications for Firefighter/Paramedic. All applicants must be TCFP Firefighter- and TDSHS Paramedic-certified/licensed before hire.

Certified Firefighter AND Paramedic: $86,499 - $104,409

*The City of Southlake Fire Department will transition to a 48/96 schedule effective June 20, 2026*

After your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted if you're invited to attend the upcoming testing. Please see the testing date(s) below:

Physical Agility Course (By Invitation):
Saturday, May 9th or Sunday, May 10th

What You Will Be Doing:

Our world-class Firefighter/Paramedics provide fire protection and emergency medical services for the preservation of life and property. This is accomplished by responding to emergency calls, providing emergency medical services, hazardous materials responses, completing firefighting and rescue activities, providing public education, and inspecting and testing plans and equipment. Other duties include maintaining the fire station and hazmat operations, performing inspections of commercial properties, conducting tours, inspecting equipment, and performing related duties as assigned.

What You Bring to Us:

A High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age is 18.
Minimum qualifications vary depending on position.
- Possession of Paramedic certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services National Registry Paramedic certification (unless otherwise posted).
- Possession of Texas Commission Basic Fire Protection certification (unless otherwise posted).
- Possession of Emergency Medical Technician certification is required (unless the candidate possesses a Paramedic license).
