Duties

• Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and rescue calls with professionalism and urgency
• Operate firefighting equipment, including hoses, ladders, and rescue tools to contain fires and assist victims
• Provide first aid, basic life support (BLS), CPR, and other emergency medical interventions to stabilize patients
• Conduct thorough assessments of incident scenes, including taking vital signs and evaluating patient conditions
• Drive emergency vehicles safely under various conditions while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols
• Assist with mechanical inspections of firefighting apparatus and maintain readiness of all emergency equipment
• Support community outreach efforts by educating the public on fire safety and prevention measures

Requirements

• Valid EMT certification in emergency medical services (EMS) within one year
• Obtain Firefighter I and II
• Hazardous materials awareness, operations and technician (when offered)
• All NIMS classes required by FEMA
• Valid driver's license
• Certification in first aid, CPR, and basic life support (BLS) from recognized organizations
• EVOC driver certification
• Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining firefighting equipment and vehicles
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, including carrying equipment or victims
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure during high-stress situations
• Willingness to work extra shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Must work in severe weather conditions

Pay: From $11.19 per hour
