Duties
- Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and rescue calls with professionalism and urgency
- Operate firefighting equipment, including hoses, ladders, and rescue tools to contain fires and assist victims
- Provide first aid, basic life support (BLS), CPR, and other emergency medical interventions to stabilize patients
- Conduct thorough assessments of incident scenes, including taking vital signs and evaluating patient conditions
- Drive emergency vehicles safely under various conditions while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Assist with mechanical inspections of firefighting apparatus and maintain readiness of all emergency equipment
- Support community outreach efforts by educating the public on fire safety and prevention measures
Requirements
- Valid EMT certification in emergency medical services (EMS) within one year
- Obtain Firefighter I and II
- Hazardous materials awareness, operations and technician (when offered)
- All NIMS classes required by FEMA
- Valid driver's license
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and basic life support (BLS) from recognized organizations
- EVOC driver certification
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining firefighting equipment and vehicles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, including carrying equipment or victims
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure during high-stress situations
- Willingness to work extra shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must work in severe weather conditions

Pay: From $11.19 per hour
