Firefighter/EMR/EMT

Job Overview

Concord Fire Department is a combination fire department serving McCracken County, as a Firefighter, you will play a critical role in protecting lives and property from fire and other emergencies. This position requires individuals who are highly trained, and dedicated to serving the community. Firefighters respond to emergency calls, perform rescue operations, and engage in fire prevention activities while maintaining readiness for various emergency situations. Schedule will be 24/48. Posting for these positions will close Monday May 18th, 2026 @ 5:00 P.M.

Duties

• Respond promptly to emergency calls.
• Operate firefighting equipment and vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Perform fire suppression activities, including extinguishing fires and conducting search and rescue operations.
• Administer basic life support, including CPR and first aid, to injured individuals as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections of firefighting equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Participate in training exercises to maintain skills and knowledge of firefighting techniques and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with other emergency services during multi-agency responses.
• Engage in community education programs to promote fire safety awareness.

Experience
Candidates MUST possess the following skills and experience:

• Ky Firefighter 1 certification
• EMR or EMT certification
• Experience with commercial driving is preferred for operating fire apparatus.
• Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing strenuous tasks under pressure.
• Mechanical knowledge related to firefighting equipment maintenance is advantageous.

Location Requirement

Candidates for this position must live within a reasonable driving distance to the Concord Fire District.

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
