Firefighter/Paramedic

Job Overview

Duties

  • Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, and rescue calls with professionalism and urgency
  • Operate fire suppression equipment, including hoses, extinguishers, and ladders to control and extinguish fires effectively
  • Provide advanced emergency medical services such as patient assessment, first aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and basic life support procedures
  • Conduct thorough scene assessments to identify hazards and determine the appropriate response strategies
  • Perform mechanical inspections of firefighting apparatus and medical equipment regularly to ensure operational readiness
  • Assist in training sessions for new team members on firefighting techniques, medical procedures, and safety protocols
  • Maintain detailed incident reports, logs of vital signs, treatment provided, and other documentation required for compliance and review

Skills

  • Proven EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) experience with a strong understanding of pre-hospital care procedures
  • Certified in first aid, CPR, and basic life support to deliver immediate assistance during emergencies
  • Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in heavy vehicle operation for rapid response transportation
  • Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on firefighting tools and medical devices
  • Ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly while maintaining safety standards during rescue operations
  • Skilled in taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration rate, and oxygen saturation levels accurately
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and communicate clearly with patients and the public

Pay: $59,639.84 - $84,609.20 per year
