Firefighter/Paramedic

Overview

Are you a Firefighter/Paramedic looking to serve your community in a progressive, team-oriented environment? The Blackhawk and New Milford Fire Protection Districts are seeking Firefighter/Paramedics to join our dual-district response team.

Duties
As a Firefighter/Paramedic, your responsibilities will include:

• Responding to emergency calls for fire suppression, rescue operations, and medical emergencies.
• Administering advanced life support and basic life support techniques, including CPR and first aid.
• Assessing patients' vital signs and providing appropriate medical interventions based on established protocols.
• Operating firefighting equipment and vehicles, ensuring readiness for immediate deployment.
• Conducting routine inspections of equipment and apparatus to maintain operational efficiency.
• Participating in training exercises to enhance firefighting skills and emergency response capabilities.
• Collaborating with team members and other emergency service personnel during incidents to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• IDPH Paramedic License
• IL OSFM Basic Operations Firefighter
• CPR, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS
• FSVO and Fire Apparatus Engineer is preferred
• Physical capability for heavy lifting and performing strenuous tasks required in firefighting activities.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
