Firefighter/Paramedic

The West Boylston Fire Department has one opening for a full-time career position. This position is for an experienced Paramedic (firefighting experience preferred). This position is not grant-funded. Duties include: working within a fast-paced paramilitary structure of a progressive and growing fire department that provides fire suppression services, rescue, and paramedic-level emergency medical services to the Town of West Boylston and its neighboring communities. Minimum qualifications include: High School Diploma or equivalent, Massachusetts EMT-Paramedic , CPR certification, ACLS certification, a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License (Massachusetts/ ProBoard Firefighter I/II Certification-Preferred). Successful candidates must pass a thorough background check including an NFPA pre-employment physical with drug screening, Massachusetts HRD physical abilities test (PAT), and must maintain certifications throughout their career as a condition of employment. Preference will be given to those with a minimum of three (3) years of Firefighting and/or 911 EMS experience, certifications in Pumps and Hydraulics, Aerial Ladders, or Fire Prevention and/ or college degrees in Fire Science, Paramedic Technology, Emergency Management, or Public Administration. Positions are available to start immediately. Wages will be paid in accordance with the Collective bargaining Agreement between the Town of West Boylston and the International Association of Firefighters Local 5054.
