FIRST SHIFT - Quality Assurance Technician

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (required).
  • Food Industry or related industry experience (preferred).
  • HACCP Certificate (preferred).
  • PCQI Certificate (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work based on urgency, efficiency and other factors.
  • Ability and desire to influence others with tact and skill.

Responsibilities and Duties

The primary role of the Quality Assurance Technician is to help with ensuring compliance with all relevant Quality and Food Safety Standards following the SQF Code guidelines as well as Regulatory Requirements and Guidelines; all of which encompasses the Food Safety Management System that is built on GMP’s, SSOP’s, HACCP and other programs; meeting and/or exceeding customer expectations.

· ATP Swabs, and cooler/freezer temperature monitoring.

· Perform and document Scale Calibration Verification during Pre-Operation Inspection.

· Conduct and document Receiving Inspections of Raw and Non-Raw Materials and Packaging, including taking temperatures of trailer and products, visual examination of products, pulling samples when applicable and other checkups as necessary during the receiving process.

· Perform and document all CCP and CP verification based on HACCP Plan and HARPC Plan respectively.

· Perform and document weight checks on finished product at the end of the packaging line weekly.

· Pull retain samples daily and discard samples that have gone passed the ‘best if used by/freeze by’ date.

· Execute and document GMP Inspections during the operation hours.

· Perform and document Thermometer Calibration daily.

· Conduct and document Allergen Inventory daily.

· Conduct and document Pest Control Traps Inspection weekly.

· Perform and document Glass and Brittle Plastic Inspection monthly.

· Assist with managing site Sanitation Program and Staff.

· Notify QA Manager of any non-conformance and/or deviations so that immediate and appropriate corrective actions can be taken.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
