Job Description – Fit-Out Engineer (8 Years UAE Experience)

Role Overview

The Fit-Out Engineer will be responsible for managing and supervising interior fit-out works, including civil, MEP, and finishing works for commercial, residential, and hospitality projects in the UAE. The role requires strong technical knowledge, site supervision experience, and familiarity with UAE regulations and standards, including approvals from relevant authorities such as DM, DCD, DEWA, and ADDC.

Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Execution

• Review design drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Prepare project schedules, work plans, and material requirements.
• Supervise site activities to ensure timely execution of fit-out works.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and contractors to implement designs accurately.

2. Site Supervision & Quality Control

• Monitor and inspect site work for adherence to design, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Ensure proper execution of civil, joinery, partition, flooring, ceilings, painting, and MEP finishing works.
• Identify discrepancies between drawings and site conditions and provide solutions.
• Prepare site inspection reports, progress reports, and daily activity logs.

3. MEP Coordination

• Coordinate with MEP teams to ensure smooth installation of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems.
• Ensure integration of MEP services with interior layouts and finishes.

4. Material & Documentation Management

• Review submittals, shop drawings, material samples, and mock-ups.
• Maintain site documentation including RFIs, change orders, and site instructions.
• Track and manage material delivery, installation, and inventory.

5. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure all fit-out works comply with UAE authority regulations and safety standards, including:
• Dubai Municipality (DM)
• Dubai Civil Defence (DCD)
• DEWA
• ADDC / SEWA
• Follow international and UAE quality standards for finishes, materials, and installations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of fit-out or interior construction experience in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of interior fit-out works, finishing materials, and MEP coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, and MS Office.
• Excellent site management, coordination, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with UAE building codes, fire safety regulations, and authority approvals including ADDC.

Preferred Project Experience

• Commercial, residential, and hospitality fit-out projects.
• High-rise buildings, offices, hotels, or luxury villas.
• Experience with multi-discipline coordination (civil, MEP, and interior works).
