Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, fabricating, and maintaining metal components and structures, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications. Duties

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately assemble components.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment—including TIG welding—to fabricate and assemble sheet metal parts and structures.
• Perform welding tasks with precision, ensuring strong, durable joints in accordance with safety standards.
• Fabricate components using various materials, primarily sheet metal, to meet project requirements.
• Conduct basic measurements and calculations to ensure proper fit and alignment of parts.
• Assist in the installation of fabricated components into larger assemblies or systems.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot fabrication issues and improve processes.

Skills

• Proficiency in TIG welding as well as other welding techniques relevant to the role.
• Experience with UK welding standards and practices.
• Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
• Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of assembly processes.
• Ability to work with sheet metal accurately and efficiently.
• Competence in basic maths for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks.
• Familiarity with the use of various assembly components and fasteners.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure quality workmanship.
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints effectively.
