Fitter/Welder

Zimmerman Metals, Inc. Is looking for a Fitter/Welder to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to determine project requirements.
• Prepare materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and fitting.
• Perform various types of welding, including wire feed, MIG, and TIG, as needed.
• Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
• Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
• Other jobs as assigned.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Structural Welder or similar role.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and welding symbols.
• Certification in welding techniques (e.g., AWS certification) is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform welding tasks in various positions and environments.
• Knowledge of welding equipment and tools.
• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
• Must have basic Fitter/Welder tools such as tape measure, squares, hammer, and clamps.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials.
• Frequently required to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:

• The position operates in a manufacturing or warehouse setting with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
• May involve exposure to dust, dirt, and noise from machinery.

Pay: $21.00 - $37.00 per hour
