Responsibilities
Machine Setup and Operations
Set up the flange line machine according to production specifications, including adjusting cutting tools, pressure settings, and feed rates
Load raw materials the machine and monitor the feeding process
Operate the machine to cut, form, and bevel flanges to precise dimensions
Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
Perform first article inspections on parts and flanges
Utilize RFsmart scanners to accurately track and scan inventory used in production and warehouse tasks
Quality Control
Regularly inspect finished flanges for defects such as burrs, incorrect dimensions, or surface imperfections
Identify and report any quality issues to supervisors
Perform necessary rework on flanges to meet quality standards
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Conduct routine cleaning and lubrication of the machine to ensure optimal performance
Identify and report any mechanical issues to maintenance personnel
Perform basic troubleshooting to resolve minor operational problems
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate production records, including quantities produced, scrap rates, and machine downtime
Complete necessary paperwork and reports as required by operational tracking
Duties, responsibilities, and reporting relationships may fluctuate or evolve in light of your skill, experience, and the company’s needs
Follow all safety protocols including wearing PPE and required PPE at all times. Required PPE is defined as gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe boots. Additional PPE, such as hard hats, flame-resistant clothing, hearing protection, face shields, respirators, etc, may be required depending on the specific tasks being performed or the work area.
Qualifications & Experience
The ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check is required
1+ years experience in a metal fabrication environment, with experience operating the flange or related machinery
Mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of basic machine operation principals
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications accurately
Keen attention to detail and adherence to quality control standards
Strong hand-eye coordination and proficiency in working with precision tools
Basic math skills to perform measurements and machine adjustments
Physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment is required
Ability to work independently while following established safety procedures and protocols
Must be able to walk, stand, use hands to handle tools, reach with arms, kneel, stoop, crouch, and talk and hear in noisy environments
Must be able to regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 51 lbs independently and occasionally lift and move objects up to 100lbs with the assistance of team lifts.
The work environment is primarily indoors, and will, at times, be exposed to natural weather elements such as heat, cold, sunlight, darkness, wind, rain, lightning, snow, and dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
Compensation and Benefits
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience
