We are seeking a Flat Sheet Production Trainer to be a part of the Celgard team based in Concord, NC. The Production Trainer will work collaboratively with Production Supervisors, Working Leads, technicians, and other trainers to ensure the efficient and proper training and cross-training of manufacturing technicians and others working in the production department. Will perform both on-the-job training and classroom training as appropriate.
This position directly reports to the Production Manager and does not have direct reports.

Develop new training materials and methods of training, including on-the-job, train-the-trainer, classroom, CBT (Computer Based Training), etc.

Responsible for each assigned individual’s training in an active, “hands-on” manner

Utilize the SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and the support checklists to train production technicians; Work collaboratively with technicians to ensure SOPs are updated and maintained.

Work with shift supervisors, working leads, technicians, and others for SOC (Standard Operating Conditions) document revisions, along with best practices.

Issue all current CTRs in which SOPs have been edited & ensure all technicians receive training on changes prior to sign-off.

Create and issue One Point Lessons when needed to gain an understanding of issues on the production floor.

Utilize existing FSM Qualification and Mentor Checklists with a focus on execution.
-
Responsible for material on Qualification Checklists, Mentor Checklists, maintaining Training Records, revisions to the checklists, and all other training forms.

Provide departmental orientation to new employees.

Work proactively with production supervisors and Working Leads to assign training mentors to trainees as a “point of contact” for assistance; oversee mentor training to ensure consistent and proper execution.

Make recommendations on training solutions. Support continuous improvement in production and training-related areas.

Periodically reassess the current Qualification and Training program and recommend and implement changes.
-
Assist with troubleshooting opportunities and make decisions and/or recommendations for correction.

Proactively monitor the area and work collaboratively with Supervisors and Working Leads to address training and performance issues adequately.

Serve as a liaison between IT and Production to resolve ERP (AX) issues.

Must be able to flex schedule to cover all shifts as needed, including weekends & holidays per the training schedule.

Work in a high-performance, team-centered work environment to support overall plant goals.

Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement teams. Including KATA and Kaizen activities.
Education Background:
-
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent+ 5 years experience or Associate’s Degree with 3+ years experience.
Knowledge & Experience:

5+ years experience training in a manufacturing setting required.

Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.

Proficiency in math.

Proficient computer skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).

Able to work independently under limited supervision, and provide direction/leadership to others.

Demonstrated ability to train others in a technical environment or on technical skills, both on-the-job and in a classroom environment.

This position is in a manufacturing plant setting that would require working in a production environment around chemicals. Work will require standing and walking for up to 80% of the time. Lighting and temperature are adequate. You may be required to lift up to 30 pounds and/or force necessary to push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Work Shift: four 10 hour shifts (Monday - Thursday)
