Duties

• Coordinate and assign flatbed and step deck freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, shippers, and receivers via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear and professional phone etiquette.
• Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries.
• Manage freight schedules by entering data accurately into transportation management systems and AS400 platforms to maintain real-time shipment visibility.
• Plan transportation routes considering supply chain requirements, load securement, and safety regulations for flatbed and step deck loads.
• Use analysis skills to troubleshoot dispatch issues, adjust plans proactively, and improve overall logistics efficiency.
• Maintain detailed records of shipping & receiving activities, freight status updates, and dispatch logs to support operational transparency.

Skills

• Proficiency with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS tracking tools, and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
• Strong understanding of supply chain processes, transportation planning, logistics coordination, and fleet management principles.
• Excellent analysis skills to interpret data from shipping & receiving records, GPS reports, and system inputs for decision-making.
• Effective dispatching abilities with experience managing freight movements for flatbed and step deck trailers.
• Exceptional communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette for liaising with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
• Fast typing skills combined with experience in data entry across multiple platforms including AS400 and 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) systems.
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, freight regulations, safety standards for flatbed/step deck loads, and fleet management practices.
