Job Summary

Symbiosis Ambulance is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fleet Body and Paint Technician to support the appearance, branding, and cosmetic condition of our growing fleet of ambulances, support vehicles, and specialty EMS equipment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a professional image across our organization by performing body work, paint correction, decal installation, and cosmetic restoration on emergency vehicles operating throughout Southern California.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in auto body repair, paint preparation and application, vinyl decal installation, fiberglass and sheet metal repair, and overall vehicle cosmetic restoration. Experience working on fleet vehicles, commercial trucks, ambulances, or emergency vehicles is highly preferred.

  • Perform auto body repairs including dent repair, panel replacement, fiberglass repair, sheet metal work, sanding, filling, and cosmetic restoration
  • Prep, paint, and refinish ambulances, support vehicles, and fleet assets to company standards
  • Install, remove, and replace ambulance decals, striping, reflective graphics, branding materials, and emergency vehicle markings
  • Repair cosmetic damage from minor collisions, wear and tear, equipment installation, or operational use
  • Conduct paint correction, buffing, polishing, detailing, and finish work to maintain fleet presentation
  • Utilize MIG welding, fabrication tools, and body repair equipment as needed for repairs and modifications
  • Assist with ambulance remounts, compartment repairs, trim replacement, and interior cosmetic improvements
  • Maintain consistency of Symbiosis branding and professional fleet appearance standards across all locations
  • Coordinate with fleet maintenance staff, operations managers, and mechanics regarding repair scheduling and vehicle downtime
  • Maintain organized inventory of paint, decals, body supplies, and repair materials
  • Follow OSHA safety guidelines and proper PPE usage while operating tools, paint systems, and repair equipment
  • Support special projects involving ambulances, event vehicles, command units, trailers, or specialty EMS equipment
  • Assist with light fabrication and cosmetic improvements for stations, fleet assets, and operational equipment when needed
  • Prior experience in auto body repair, fleet body work, commercial vehicle painting, or collision repair
  • Strong understanding of automotive paint systems, prep work, refinishing, and color matching
  • Experience installing vinyl decals, reflective striping, and vehicle graphics preferred
  • Proficiency with sanding, masking, buffing, welding, fabrication, and body repair techniques
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, paint guns, body fillers, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with commercial vehicles or emergency vehicles preferred
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to safely lift heavy equipment and work in a physically active environment
  • Strong organizational skills and pride in craftsmanship
  • Experience with ambulances, fire apparatus, commercial fleet vehicles, or dealership collision centers is highly desirable
  • Valid driver’s license required; clean driving record preferred
  • Vehicle body repair

  • The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to talk, hear, see, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full Time or Part Time

Salary Range: $25-$35
