Fleet Diesel Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Successful Veteran Owned Transportation Company in Brownstown MI is looking for truck/trailer mechanic to fill immediate Full-Time opening on second shift in a New Modern State of the Art Maintenance Facility.

Diesel Mechanic must have good reporting, and organization skills, Be Professional, and possess good verbal communication skills. Mechanics with CDL-A will recieve additional compensation.

OVERVIEW:

• Shifts Available: Afternoon shift (3:30pm to Midnight)
• Mondays thru Friday some Saturdays
• 2 years of experience in Heavy Duty Truck Maintenance Required
• Salary: $25.00 to $30.00 /hour. Pay based on knowledge and experience
• Job Type: Full Time
• Overtime Available
• Fleet of 100 Tractors and 300+ Trailers

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform a DOT inspection on either a Heavy Duty Tractor OR Trailer
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on a Heavy Duty Tractor OR Trailer
• Proficient understanding of diagnostic software for different types of Heavy Duty Tractors. (Detroit, and Paccar)
• Perform Disk and Drum Brake Changes and Repairs on Heavy Duty Tractor AND Trailer
• Understanding of how Manual and Automatic transmissions work
• Understanding of how to replace common components on a Heavy Duty Tractor and Trailer. (Water pumps, surge tanks, starters, alternators, wheel bearings, ECT)
• Willing to perform basic customer service maintenance tasks for drivers such as simple wiper and light changes and Fueling when necessary.
