Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair operations of a large diesel truck fleet. This role is vital in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our heavy-duty vehicles, including tractor-trailers, and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, and heavy equipment operation, combined with strong leadership abilities to manage maintenance teams effectively. Duties
- Supervise daily maintenance activities for the diesel truck fleet, ensuring all repairs and inspections meet safety standards and operational requirements.
- Coordinate scheduled preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire service, brake repair, suspension checks, and hydraulic system servicing.
- Diagnose complex mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and technical manuals; perform repairs on transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC units, shocks & struts, and other heavy equipment components.
- Oversee the repair and fabrication of fleet equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery; ensure proper assembly and troubleshooting.
- Lead a team of service technicians and mechanics by providing training on new technologies, safety procedures, and best practices in automotive repair and heavy equipment operation.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities using computerized systems; ensure compliance with regulatory standards related to vehicle safety and emissions.
Skills
- Extensive experience with heavy-duty diesel trucks and industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in fabrication techniques involving welding, soldering, and custom modifications.
- Strong knowledge of schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, suspension components, HVAC units, and transmissions.
- Hands-on experience operating excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy machinery.
- Skilled in diesel truck diagnostics for troubleshooting engine issues and electrical systems; adept at using power tools and hand tools for repairs.
- Mechanical expertise in brake systems, wheel alignment procedures, shocks & struts replacement, tire service, and powertrain repairs.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; use diagnostic software excellent problem-solving skills for complex repairs.
- Effective leadership skills with a focus on team development; strong customer service orientation when interacting with internal stakeholders or external vendors.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting; familiarity with safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
