Blue Water Pools of Grand Rapids, Inc. is the premier backyard living construction company in the West Michigan area since 1987. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, hardworking and dedicated candidate with mechanical experience to fill the position for a Fleet Mechanic. We design and build custom residential outdoor living projects as the General Contractor. We work with custom home builders and residential clients to create a total backyard living space. Elements of construction from demolition to final completion of outdoor kitchens, pergola's, in-ground pool or hot tub, fire pit or fireplace, hardscapes, landscaping, fencing, drainage, and total yard repair. We currently have 35 vehicles, 20 trailers and 7 pieces of heavy equipment. $250 Sign on Bonus after 90 days of employment. Hourly pay $22 to $27 based on experience and qualifications. Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Position Summary - Fleet Mechanic
The Fleet Maintenance Technician is mainly responsible to track, maintain, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all fleet vehicles and trailers.
Position Responsibilities
- Run the vehicles and trailers through a monthly maintenance check using the appropriate checklist.
- Responsible for the tracking, signing out, and arranging maintenance of the vehicles and trailers. Will enter data to the Drive for the monthly and maintenance of all vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment records.
- Keeping updated records of what has been fixed or repaired for the past 6-8 months.
- Mechanically inclined to diagnose and fix minor issues with trucks, trailers, tools, and small equipment.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain small equipment (power washers, concrete saws, compactors, etc.).
- Ensuring each vehicle has the appropriate safety gear stored inside.
- Scheduling vehicles for oil changes, recalls and service that is not able to be done in the shop.
- Rotating tires every 2-3k miles.
- Installing decals to trucks and trailers.
- Renewing license plate tabs and registrations annually and getting the tabs and registrations in the vehicles.
- Assigning the proper vehicle and trailer to the crews to accommodate their needs.
- Creating and implementing a system that will allow employees to report issues with trucks, trailers, large equipment, or tools that need to be serviced.
- Assisting other team members, when time permits, which would include but not limited to inventory, sweeping, taking out the trash and general organization of the tools and equipment.
- Assist with identifying and ordering construction supplies.
- Responsible for the inventory of tools, equipment, and the location tracking of such items and returning items back into inventory.
- Maintain and secure all company owned inventory of materials, supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Make recommendations to achieve higher profitability and continued company growth.
- Assure all responsible personnel comply with company policy and procedures for Warehouse and tools.
- Keep designated areas clean and organized.
- General daily closing duties per checklist.
