Fleet Mechanic – Heavy Equipment & Fueling Operations

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Fleet Mechanic to support and maintain a mixed fleet of specialized equipment including fuel trucks, OTR tractors, pumps, boilers, and mechanical flushing systems. This role is critical to ensuring operational uptime across fuel delivery and data center mechanical services projects.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, self-sufficient, and experienced in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining both diesel-powered and mechanical process equipment in field and shop environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on:
- Diesel fuel trucks and tankers
- OTR trucks and trailers
- High-capacity pumps and fluid transfer systems
- Industrial boilers and heating systems
- Mechanical flushing and filtration equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues across fleet assets
- Maintain DOT compliance and fleet inspection readiness
- Troubleshoot and repair engine, transmission, braking, and fuel systems
- Support field operations with on-site repairs and emergency response
- Track maintenance schedules, service logs, and parts usage
- Coordinate with operations team to minimize downtime and maximize utilization
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety and environmental standards
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working on heavy-duty diesel equipment and fleet vehicles
- Strong knowledge of:
- Diesel engines (Cummins, CAT, Detroit preferred)
- Hydraulic systems and pump equipment
- Fuel systems and tanker operations
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs and fleet tracking systems
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work extended hours and travel as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting fuel delivery operations or oil & gas service equipment
- Familiarity with boiler systems and high-capacity water heating equipment
- Welding and fabrication capability
- Experience in data center or industrial service environments
